Friday night, we officially started our journey. As it is a road trip leading to the ultimate sense of freedom and happiness, in the best case scenario, there is no definite itinerary but we have decided we would like to head up to the North. Admittedly, it is October, so this is a rather stupid idea, especially when bearing in mind we are going to sleep in the car, but, hey, it’s supposed to be an adventure.
With limited internet access and accommodation, there might be some days in between my posts, but I will cover everything I deem interesting during my journey, seasoned with the odd advice in case you want to embark on a similar kind of journey.
Unfortunately, our journey didn’t start out very promising, as the car we are driving with, which is a friend’s of ours, was ready far more delayed than we had hoped, pushing our driving date to the end of the first week of October. But Friday the 6th the day had finally come and we started in the evening, knowing we wouldn’t make it further than Linz (we started from Innsbruck, Austria), but thought it would make a decent test run. We stopped at a motorway parking space, which wasn’t a great place to sleep. We managed to choose parking next to the ONE truck which was delivering something fresh and had its ventilators running all night, which were painstakingly loud. We hardly slept and then it was raining all day…it was a nightmare.
Still, next morning, we managed to get on the road early enough and headed to Czech to visit lovely and beautiful Prague…
